Share digital environmental information via API integrations

Using an API enables digital environmental data to be shared in an open and transparent manner. Those who wish to retrieve digital environmental data can automatically access accurate information directly into their own systems and tools.

eBVD + API = automatic data

In eBVD, all published data is available digitally: every field included in the downloadable PDF can also be retrieved directly in digital format. This means that instead of manually searching for an eBVD and downloading it as a PDF, you can connect your own tools and databases directly to eBVD.

In this way, you always have accurate and up-to-date information from the product’s published eBVD directly integrated into your existing digital systems. The digital transfer of eBVD data makes it efficient both to provide and to use environmental information for building materials. To enable this, we establish API connections between the eBVD system and other databases.

We retrieve eBVD data via API.

Would you like to connect to the API?

Within your connected tools and systems, you can select which information from eBVD you wish to display. To connect to the eBVD API, an agreement must be signed to ensure that the data in the system is handled securely. Connecting to and using the API is free of charge.

What is API?

An API (Application Programming Interface) enables connectivity between different tools and databases. This works by allowing you, as the user retrieving information, to send a “request” (API call) specifying the data you are seeking. The API receives your request and retrieves the relevant data from the source where it is stored. The retrieved data is then formatted and returned to you as a response to your request.

This allows you to request specific information and receive a direct response, without having to manually search for or filter through all available data.

For us, it is essential to display the sustainability information available in eBVD, as BASTA aims to present consolidated sustainability data in an open and accessible manner. Through the integration with eBVD, we ensure comprehensive, reliable, and easily accessible information for all users.
