The flooring industry begins using the eBVD API
The Swedish Flooring Industry (GBR) has started using the eBVD API. We asked Jenny Adnerfall, Head of Technology and Sustainability, how they are utilizing the integration.
- The Swedish Flooring Industry (GBR) uses the API to store and make information about the products built into a floor construction accessible. Details of all products used by the flooring contractor in a project—such as levelling compounds, adhesives, flooring materials, and surface treatments—are documented and can be handed over to the client. The current eBVD is retrieved automatically from the database via the API. Additional documentation, such as maintenance instructions, drawings, and safety data sheets, can be added by the contractor.
The result is a comprehensive logbook and set of maintenance instructions for the flooring. The aim is to ensure a long service life through correct maintenance, as well as to create traceability so that, in the event of a future floor replacement, there is full knowledge of the materials used and they can be handled properly—for example, for recycling.
